The dual strategy seems to be the name of the game, collaborations from both extremes are very common now… which is the reason we are not surprised about seeing Deadmau5 dabbling in the distant waters of hiphop. Thinking outside the box, the result is a rather catchy piece all together, the tune is worth mentioning… *Deadbeat Digital stamp of approval*

Just to kick off the musical antics on a good note, we have been informed of some very good UK based hip-hop that caught our attention.Unique in his ability to not only consistently write innovative, inspiring and true hip hop lyrics but also complement them with his own individual productions using a mixture of live instruments and digital production methods, Skittles is set to have a big year in 2011.
Check out his blog to keep up with the music; http://blog.oneguycalledskittles.com/

A dreamworld consisting of rolling sub-basslines, autotune, and clear melody really does exist. Travis Stewart (Machinedrum) tells us this story through his music. This man is a producer who has clearly harnessed the potential of “spur of the moment” production, and has taken his tunes through realms that even he finds impressive. A mere “BONUS SONG” off of his upcoming album ‘Room(s)’, it packs the punch to describe what is to come. Moody yet electric, “he fills the usually fierce, stripped down form with elegant sun kissed and impressionistic songs, built from r & b, autotune and dance music history’s most exuberant stabs and kicks.”
Tracklist for ‘Room(s)’
1. She Died There
2. Now U Know Tha Deal 4 Real
3. Sacred Frequency
4. U Don’t Survive
5. Come1
6. Youniverse
7. GBYE

May 26th, 2011DUBSTEP
Warning Warning! Bass overload!! Its about time that one of the fastest blown up names in the Dubstep scene has started a mix series (a little overdue, the Shambhala mixes were way to far apart.) We all know Excision for his cut-throat basslines and mad punching sub-basslines. The launch of his new website up is commemorated with a new mix series entitled “X-Sessions” This mix is a plethora and should I say… an “All-Star” tracklist of the biggest bass one could roll up on a sound system dedicated to Dubstep (…think The Village at The Shambhala Music Festival.) Glancing at the tracklist will reveal all you need to know before even listening to it. Brace yourself… this mix has induced multiple bassface instances… at once!
With Shambhala only 71 days away im sure this is an early taste of whats to come on the PK Sound system. We do have to say that we love the fact he tossed the Dr.Dre mash-up into the swing of things. Not failing to mention the new EP that got released on Beatport in tandem aswell… you can get your listen on at the Excision website. Dont be alarmed when we say you are in for one hell of a ride!
